Bonus: I know some homeschoolers are not fans of public school, but there are some great FREE summer opportunities which might be worth looking into in your local school district. I had never done this until I heard about a "summer fitness" program at our local high school for kids interested in basketball. We got in late and my freshman son only participated for 2 weeks, but he did morning workouts 4 days a week from 7:45-9:00 a.m. about 20 minutes away at the Ninth Grade Center/Middle School and then afternoon workouts 4 days a week from 2:30-4:30 at the high school less than 10 minutes from our home. Thursday afternoons and evenings, they would have actual basketball games played against other schools from other cities.
